Halloween on the Quay
On Friday 27th October between at 6pm-8pm, prepare yourselves for spooky evening on the Quay! Tickets for this Spooktacular are £7 per person or if you’re a family of four, it’s £25. This year, you can get involved with wicked games to win points for your team! Trust no one as ghost pirates and the Wallasea witches play against you and cause a commotion to put you off winning! Just some of the ghoulish games include:

- Ghost Face Sweet Hunt
- What’s in The Scary Box?
There are prizes to be won and also a free party bag for each child.
A basket meal and a drink are included with each ticket and those attending can enjoy the licensed bar & additional refreshments available at an extra cost. All children must have an adult accompanying them and any allergies must be made known prior to ordering food. Emporium on the Quay
Talking of the Quay, throughout October, Emporium on the Quay will be home to lots of local crafters and small business making bespoke seasonal goods! From artisan seasonal glass pieces, Halloween decorations, themed jewellery, glitter glasses and the cutest crochet pumpkins, there’s something for everyone here! This is one of our favourite things to do in Burnham on Crouch and perfect for a leisurely Sunday activity. The Emporium is open Monday-Sunday, 10.30-4pm for all to enjoy this autumn.
Halloween Party at The Victoria Inn
On Saturday 28th October, The Victoria Inn are hosting the biggest Halloween party in Burnham on Crouch, with lots of spooky surprises in store! The event is ‘a Glam Horror’ thee, so come dressed to impress! Guests can enjoy DJ Paul Travi until 1am and there are cash prices for the best fancy dress
Mind reader, mentalist and magician, Darren Sarsby, as seen on BGT, will be joining team Victoria for the Halloween Spooktacular too! If you’re after a night of great food and drink, cackle-worthy costumes and music that will make you monster mash all night long, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Creeksea Place Children's Halloween Party
On Ferry road, you’ll find Creeksea Place Manor House, who are holding a great event for children this Halloween! On Tuesday 24th October between 10.45am-1pm a Halloween themed brunch for children, with a cream tea and unlimted tea and coffee for the adults will be held! Meet Cruella DeVille and Maleficient, take part in the fancy dress competition, have your face painted (age 3+), make arts and crafts, play games, win prizes and enjoy sweet treats galore! Children’s tickets are £30 each, whilst adults are £10. Simply call 01621-784535 to book for a party your little monster won’t forget!
Burnham Alternative Market (BAM)
If you’re looking for things to do in Burnham on Crouch this Autumn, the Alternative Market is a great family event! Now, you may recognise this as the old farmer’s market, however, the recent name change brings with it even more for the family to enjoy!
Burnam Alternative Market, also known as BAM, takes place the third Sunday of every month. This month, it’s 15th October at the Village Hall on Devonshire Road, between 9.30-1pm. November’s date has also been confirmed as 19th. Head over to the BAM Facebook page to find out which businesses will be in attendance this month!
Hurley’s Pumpkin Forest
Not far from Burnham Waters is Hurley’s pumpkin forest. If you’re looking for a place to go pumpkin picking as Halloween approaches, this popular patch in Battlesbridge is the place for you. Throughout October, you’ll find thousands of plump pumpkins, squashes and gourds to choose from. You may even see a few surprises in preparation for spooky season!
Based in the middle of the Essex countryside, avid pumpkin pickers can enjoy entry to the forest grounds at both standard and twilight times by pre-booking a slot online. At Hurleys, you pay for your ticket, which is between £5 and £10 per person. You then pay for the specific produce you wish to buy; all of which start from £1!
