Looking for things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch over the festive period? With Christmas on everybody’s minds, now is the time to book those extra special outings to get you feeling festive! From annual traditions to making brand new memories with loved ones, Burnham-on-Crouch truly offers plenty for all to enjoy! If you’d like to know what’s going on over the next few weeks, the team at Burnham Waters takes a closer look at festivities in town this year!
Christmas on the Quay
If you’re after things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch, the annual celebration at Christmas on the Quay is the perfect local event to begin with! This year, the festivities start from 10am on Saturday 18th November and promises to be a great, family friendly event for all ages.
From 3pm onwards, guests can enjoy a real reindeer experience, where they can meet and feed the reindeer and get their picture taken with them! For the little ones, Father Christmas and his Christmas grotto will be there. Children can enjoy a photo opportunity and a special gift from the big man himself! Both Santa and the reindeer are £8 per child.
There will also be festive raffle, a tombola, lucky dip, live entertainment, a craft fayre a giving tree and late-night openings of some local businesses. All profits from Santa, Reindeer, Tombola, Raffle & Lucky Dip will benefit local charities.
Burnham Festive Fayre
Next on our nice list is the Burnham on Crouch Christmas Fayre! Every year, the Burnham-on-Crouch Carnival Committee hold the festive street fayre along the high street at the start of December. This year it’s taking place on Saturday 2nd December between 3pm-7pm.
To allow for ease of access, the high street is closed off to traffic, to allow people to browse stalls and local produce from small businesses The festive street fayre offers plenty to do for all the family, including fairground-style rides, bouncy castles, a Christmas market, food and drinks stalls, a brass band, school choirs, face-painting and a raffle. You can even catch a glimpse of Santa on his sleigh, giving away sweet treats throughout the day!
In addition, the Carnival Committee will be presenting cheques to local charities and good causes from money raised by the summer carnivals. There is also a collection for local charities and good causes for attendees to donate if they wish! There is plenty of free parking in the town for those who drive, so no need to worry about getting there too much ahead of time.
Royal Corinthian Christmas Party Night
Next on our list of things to do in Burnham-on-Crouch is something a little more glitz and glam! If you’re looking for an excuse to get your glad rags on this festive season, Royal Corinthian Yacht Club are on hand to help again! On Saturday 2nd, Tuesday 19th and Friday 22nd December, their signature Christmas Party Nights are open to all! Book now as limited spaces are available!
This evening is for adults only, so it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a festive work do, or simply spend quality time with friends on the approach to Christmas! Each event begins at 7pm, with every ticket including a delicious three course meal from the club’s head chef. A live DJ and dancing will go on until midnight! Christmas Wreath Making & Table Decoration Workshop
If Christmas wreath making is your annual tradition, you simply have to book the workshop at Creeksea Place Manor House. On December 9th between 11am-2pm, come and join the experts at this fresh wreath and table decoration workshop! All materials are included with the ticket, which is just £40pp and includes refreshments. Spaces are limited, so be sure to make a booking as soon as possible!
Christmas High Tea
Also at Creeksea Manor, is a festive high tea! Treat your loved ones to afternoon tea with all the trimmings to get you in the festive spirit! On 12th December between 1pm-3pm, the manor team will put on an elegant spread, complete with delicious fresh sandwiches, moreish scones and mouth-watering cakes, finished off with unlimited tea and coffee. Of course, all will be presented with a magical Christmas twist!
This event is £35pp and includes a glass of Mulled wine or Champagne for a little extra ‘merrily on high’! Be sure to book your seat today.
